My friend sent me a care package of a notebook, some chocolate & a card from the Musee d'Orsay - just the ticket to get me through a 3 hour TD!

 Une amie m'a envoyé un cadeau surprise - d'un cahier, du chocolat et une carte du Musée d'Orsay, exactement ce qu'il faut pour m'aider à se débrouiller pendant un TD de 3 heures !

There are two types of people in this world - those for whom the sight of a drawer full of books fills them with joy and those for whom it fills them with fear. Luckily I'm in the former category!

Il y a deux types de personne dans ce monde - ceux qui sont remplis de terreur devant tout un tiroir plein de livres et ceux de qui remplis de joie - heureusement je fais partie de cette dernière catégorie !

And finally, I am very excited because I've finally booked some tickets to go and see 'Andromaque' and 'Phedre' at the Comedie Française !

L'Écriture est un voyage

Today I got a lovely card in the post from a friend back at home, which sparked the idea for this post. I just love getting mail - reading it, sending it, cards & letter paper...I think I've already mentioned that the papeterie department in any shop is my favourite place to see! This is a motto I saw on the window of a papeterie shop: "Writing is a journey" - & it's never more true than when your words go on an actual journey, tucked into an envelope & send through the post!

Aujourd'hui, j'ai reçu une lettre dans la poste d'une amie en Angleterre, qui m'a motivé d'écrire ce poste. J'adore recevoir du courrier - de le lire, de l'envoyer, j'adore la papier à lettres et la papeterie. J'ai vu ce slogan dans la vitrine d'un magasin, et ce n'est jamais plus vrai que quand les mots qu'on a écrit font leur propre voyage dans un enveloppe, envoyé dans le courrier !

I'm told that in France it's not very common to send letters, but if I could single-handedly change that tradition, I would! 

On m'a dit qu'en France on n'envoie pas très fréquemment les cartes, mais si je pourrais changer moi-même cette tradition, j'aimerais beaucoup de la changer !

My Mum got me some cute luggage tags which are great for present wrapping or for popping inside a card as a little surprise. They're also giving out free stickers inside the catalogue of Le Bon Marche - they're so cute!

(Il y a des autocollants gratuits super mignons dans la nouvelle catalogue chez Le Bon Marché !)
